Things happen! Moving companies bust things. We bust things. And when things happen to fine furniture, most of us are not up to fixing them. We just inherited a dining set which has been in the family around 100 years which looked OK. We though we'd just get the chair seats re -caned and all would be well. But....
No.... the years had really hammered the chairs and the movers scratched the table badly. I set out to find help and we just had a wonderful experience with two AZ craftsmen who have done such fine work that I am here to brag about them. Check out the attached pictures to see their names, the finished results, and some of the shocking sights of the work in progress. Don at Geppetto's recaned the chair seats and then had to completely rebuild each chair. Ancient glue, all pins and screws and dowels and random nails were removed or ground off. Damaged parts were then carefully glued back together and then reassembled using new dowels. While that was happening, Don had the table top stripped, steamed out the scratch damage, and refinished the table.
